Council Recognition Awards

Distinguished Commissioners Service Award - Awarded to commissioners who complete training, tenure, and performance requirements.

District Award of Merit - Awarded to district volunteers who give outstanding service to Scouting.

James E. West Fellowship Award - Awarded to those who donate $1,000 or more to their council's endowment fund.

Scoutmaster's Award of Merit - Awarded to Scoutmasters who complete various tenure, training, and performance requirements.

Silver Beaver Award - The highest honor that a council can bestow upon a Scouter.

Regional and National Recognition Awards

George Meany Award - Awarded to an adult union member who has made a significant contribution to the youth of the community through Scouting.

Heroism Award - Awarded to a youth member or adult leader who has demonstrated heroism and skill in saving or attempting to save life at minimum risk to self.

Honor Medal - Awarded to a youth member or adult leader who has demonstrated unusual heroism and skill in saving or attempting to save life at considerable risk to self.

Medal of Merit - Awarded to a youth member or adult leader who has performed some outstanding act of service of a rare or exceptional character that reflects an uncommon degree of concern for the well-being of others.

Order of the Arrow Distinguished Service Award - Awarded to those who show great service to Order of the Arrow beyond the Lodge level, on a sectional, regional or national basis.

Scouting - Vale La Pena Service Award - Recognizes outstanding services by an adult individual or an organization for demonstrated involvement in the development and implementation of Scouting opportunities for Hispanic American/Latino youth.

Silver Antelope Award - Awarded to those who display extraordinary service at the regional level.

Silver Buffalo Award - Awarded to those who display extraordinary service at the national level.

Silver World Award - Awarded to those who display extraordinary service at the international level.

Whitney Young Jr. Award - Awarded to those who display extraordinary service in bringing Scouting to low income urban areas.

 

 

Religious Awards

Youth Religious Award - Awarded to a youth who earned the religious award of their faith.

Adult Religious Award - Awarded to an adult who earns the religious award of their faith.
