About Scouting

If you're between the ages of 6 and 20, you might be interested in one of the Scouting programs.  If you're a parent, you might be interested in volunteering to a Scout leader. Scouting offers a time-tested set of activities that have produced fine citizens, dedicated family members and strong community leaders for more than 90 years.  Whatever your pursuits, we welcome your interest in Scouting!

Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts do fun things with other kids! They get to wear cool uniforms, go places and see things. They play all kinds of sports and build things, like race cars and bird houses. Want to learn a secret code?  Want to learn about wild animals? If you're a boy in the first through fifth grades, (ages 7-10), go Cub Scouting!

Boy Scouts
Boy Scouts get away from it all!  They camp, hike and fish in the great outdoors. They get together in troops, and try out new experiences.  Boy Scouting is available to boys who are 11 through 17 years old, or who have earned the Arrow of Light Award, or have completed the fifth grade.

Religious Awards
To encourage members to grow stronger in their faith, religious groups have developed the following religious emblems programs. The Boy Scouts of America has approved of these programs and allows the emblems to be worn on the official uniform. The various religious groups administer the programs. Check with your local council service center or contact the religious organization directly to obtain the curriculum booklets.
